Unfolding (poem)

“Unfolding” (January 2014)

I pray that You would help me to
Unfold my heart and give to You
The deepest dwelling of my soul,
The parts that even I don’t know

The intricacies of Your love,
So far beyond my fathoming
Imploring just to know Your touch,
The everlasting song we sing

I bow down at Your feet and pray:
Guide me Father when I stray
I’ve fallen many times before,
I pray that You would be my source

Your gentle hand has found my heart,
And in that hand at last I rest
Your love, an endless work of art
Unfolding me with tenderness.
